1882 – 1977
Victorian Murray was a world ranked walker, according to his times, when he set off for Stockholm 1912. Once there, he was unsuccessful, due to disqualification, in the heats of the 10,000 metres walk. He served in World War 1 and after the cessation of hostilities competed in athletics events arranged through the AIF (Australian Imperial Force) Sports Control Board.
