1980 –

Travis Brooks won two medals for Australia in men’s hockey: gold in 2004 and bronze in 2008. The Victorian proved to be one of the heroes of the Kookaburras’ famous win in Athens. It was Brooks who scored the only Aussie goal in regulation time in the final against the Netherlands, evening the score at 1-1 after an earlier Dutch goal. Brooks won a second Olympic in medal in Beijing, a bronze.
