Todd Kidd was a quarterfinalist at the 2006 Commonwealth Games before he secured a spot on the 2008 Beijing Olympic Team. Kidd had a shock loss at the 2007 Nationals which forced him to fight for a spot at the Oceania Championships. He won the light welterweight division, ensuring an Olympic berth. In Beijing, Kidd lost his preliminary bout.
