Timothy's Story

1972 -

Track cyclist Tim O’Shannessey was a member of the men’s team pursuit team that won a bronze medal in Atlanta in 1996. He teamed with Brett Aitken, Brad McGee, Stuart O’Grady and Dean Woods to achieve the result. After being the third-fastest team in qualifying, Australia beat the United States in the quarter-final but lost to Russia in the semi-final. O’Shannessey also enjoyed success at the world championships and Commonwealth Games as a team pursuit member.
