Tiffany's Story

Badminton player Tiffany Ho was just 10 years old when she began dreaming of representing Australia at the Olympics.

“Ever since I watched the 2008 Olympic Games opening ceremony in Beijing, I have dreamt of competing at the Olympics myself,” she said. “The honour of representing my country on the biggest stage drives me to work hard to achieve this coveted Olympic dream.”

Soon afterwards Tiffany competed in her first badminton tournament and by 2013 she was playing at the NSW Open.

“My 15-year badminton journey has had its challenges, in particular when I tore my ACL in 2017,” she said. “However, through the support of my friends and family I persevered and was determined to come back stronger.”

Tiffany partnered Jennifer Tam to win the women’s doubles at the Oceania Championships in 2016 and won her first international title later that year at the Waikato International in New Zealand, also in the women’s doubles.

She has won multiple medals at the Oceania Championships and was part of the Australian squad that claimed the Oceania teams title in 2020.

Tiffany reached the round of 32 at the Birmingham Commonwealth Games in 2022, where she was ranked 17th overall.

In 2023 she was crowned Australian national women’s singles champion and was runner-up in doubles and singles at the Oceania Championship. She went one better in 2024, beating fellow Australian Yuelin Zhang in the final to win the women’s singles title.

At the Paris 2024 Olympics Tiffany put up brave fights against no.9 seed Beiwen Zhang (USA) and Thy Linh Nguyen (VIE), however both matches ended in 2-0 defeats.

Tiffany is a qualified nurse and away from work and the badminton court, her unique achievement is that she has watched the Lord of the Rings movie trilogy more than 30 times.
