Tatum's Story

Tatum Stewart is one of the Babyroos, the exciting youngsters bringing news hope and energy to the Hockeyroos.

A strong defender, Tatum has quickly established herself as a key member of the Hockeyroos after being brought into the squad during the 2022-23 FIH Pro-League series.

As coach Katrina Powell continues to overhaul the Hockeyroos in the wake of a quarter-final exit at the Tokyo Olympics, Tatum was included in an inexperienced team that torched India in a three-Test series in Adelaide early in 2023. She bagged two goals in the second game of the series – earning her the player of the match award.

“Scoring for your country is a pretty cool feeling and getting the win over India after they beat the ‘Roos at the Olympics, which was all the more special as it was on home soil,” she said.

Tatum was also part of the team for the 2023 Oceania Cup series against New Zealand, where the Hockeyroos clinched victory and a place at the Paris Olympics.

Tatum, who grew up in Toowoomba and plays for Brisbane Blaze in the Hockey One league, is a set-piece specialist who will be called up for penalty corners for the Hockeyroos.
