Tarren's Story
Tarren Otte was introduced to synchronised swimming by her primary school swimming teacher, who was the State Team Manager at the time. Otte joined the Victorian State Team in 1996 and made her Olympic debut in 2008. The Australians finished seventh in the team event.
Following Beijing, Otte placed fourth in the solo event at the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi. After 17 years in the sport she then decided to retire after the Commonwealth Games to focus on her teaching career. The lure of a second Olympic campaign drew her back to the pool however and she made a comeback to compete in London, where the team finished eighth.
