Susan's Story
1958 –
Susan Hobson, from the Australian Capital Territory, was a relatively late starter to Olympic competition. She was 34-year-old at Barcelona 1992 where she ran in the heats of the women’s 10,000 metres. At Atlanta 1996, she finished 17th in the final of that event. She was 42-years-old when she ran in the marathon at Sydney 2000.
She competed at two Commonwealth Games, five world cross country championships and one each of world track and field and world half marathon championships. Hobson won six titles at the Australian track and field, marathon and cross country championships.
At London 2012, she was athletics section manger in the Australian team.
