Su-Hyun's Story

When Su Oh arrived in Australia aged eight from Korea she had never played golf before but then started in her new country.

Oh didn’t win an LPGA Tour card at her first attempt in 2014, but soon made her professional mark against some of the world’s leading pros to win the LET co-sanctioned Australian Ladies Masters in 2015. She played between Europe and the Symetra Tour in 2015, then won partial rights to the main US tour at Q-school at year’s end.

In her Olympic debut in Rio, Oh moved to within two shots of the bronze medal position following back-to-back birdies on the tricky 10th and 11th holes but a double bogey on 13 which saw her twice in the bunker at different ends of the green saw any momentum accrued evaporate. Oh eventually carded a one under par 70, leaving her five under overall and tied in 13th position.
