Shane's Story

Coming from a background in athletics as a sprinter, Shane McKenzie came to the sport of bobsleigh in 2003. At his first World Cup in Winterberg in 2004, McKenzie placed 31st. He contested three more World Cups that season (Igls – 32nd; Cortina – 30th; Königssee – 29th) and then placed first in the Challenge Cup in January with pilot Jeremy Rolleston, securing the pair’s place at the Torino 2006 Olympics. Rolleston and McKenzie completed three runs at the Cesana Olympic course, finishing 22nd overall.
