Shane's Story
Shane Heal represented Australia at four Olympic Games, captaining the team at his last in 2004 at Athens. Starting to play basketball when he was five-years-old, Heal had an illustrious career in Australia’s NBL, America’s NBA as well as for other international leagues. He made his Olympic debut in Barcelona in 1992 and went on to compete at the next three consecutive Games. At Sydney 2000, where the Boomers finished fourth, Heal was the second highest overall points scorer of the tournament.
