Sebastian's Story
Sebastian Marczak made his Olympic debut at the 2012 London Games at the age of 29. The Sydneysider started canoeing in 1997 when his dad, a former Polish canoe champion, introduced him to the sport. Marczak had been in Australian teams since he was 16 and enjoyed a brief retirement in 2003 before hearing the C1 200m would be introduced at the London Olympics.
He returned to training for the 200m- his preferred shorter event- and qualified for the London Olympic Games, finishing sixth in the C1 200m semi-final.
