Sarah Blanck has come agonisingly close to the podium in her two Olympic appearances. At Athens 2004, Blanck finished fourth in the Europe single-hand dinghy class, and at Beijing 2008 Blanck again finished fourth in the Laser Radial. The Victorian has had a long career in sailing, winning the Europe class World Championships in 2002. With a lingering desire for an Olympic medal, Blanck has set her sights on a third Olympic campaign.
