Sandra's Story
Alongside teammate Kerryn Rim, Sandra Paintin-Paul was the first Australian woman to compete at an Olympics in biathlon. She made her debut at the 1992 Albertville Olympic Winter Games, and then competed again two years later in Lillehammer. Just prior to the Lillehammer Games, Paintin-Paul had an outstanding World Cup result, finishing eighth in the 15 kilometre event in a strong field of 70 international competitors. She married Australian Olympic biathlete Andrew Paul, who competed in the 1984 and 1988 Games.
