Samuel's Story

At the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, Sam Simpson was Australia’s sole male artistic gymnast. Simpson began gymnastics at the age of three, competing at his first state championships at just eight years of age. Simpson competed at the 2003, 2006 and 2007 World Championships, helping the team to 14th place in 2006, the best team performance at the time.

Simpson competed at the inuagural Australian Youth Olympic Festival in 2001, winning a bronze medal in the men's team competition. he followed this performance two years later with a silver in the men's team at the 2003 Festival.
