Samantha's Story

Samantha Wells made her second Olympic Games in PyeongChang after making her debut four years earlier at the Sochi 2014 Games. After she finished in 18th in the field of 23 at the Sochi Games, Wells went on to finish 17th in her second campaign, missing out on Final 1.

A gymnast from the age of three, Samantha Wells was introduced to the sport by Jacqui Cooper after an injury caused a holt to her young gymnastics career.

She began to compete on the World Cup circuit in 2012 and in 2013 placed 6th at the World Championships to help her book her spot on her first Olympic team.

Wells has won two individual World Cup medals having claimed silver in Deer Valley in early 2016 and bronze in Beida Lake at the end of that year.

She went on to place 10th in the 2017 Sierra Nevada World Championships in Spain and rounded out 2017 with two strong results in China, making both finals to claim 5th and 6th.
