Sally's Story
1967 -
Sally Carbon represented Australia in two Olympics, the highlight coming in Seoul when she was part of the women’s hockey team that won the gold medal. Not only was it the nation’s first hockey gold medal, it was Australia’s first gold medal in any team sport at the Olympics. Carbon was a dominating player for the Hockeyroos as they emerged as one of the best units in international sport. She returned to the Games in 1992, where the team placed fifth. Carbon has stayed actively involved in sport as an administrator and health advocate.
