Victorian Ryan Carneli made his Olympic debut at the Beijing Games in 2008. Carneli originally aspired to be a pro golfer (he had a handicap of 12 in 2005) before committing to taekwondo. Carneli won a World Cup silver medal in 2006 before going through to the second round at the Beijing Olympics.
