Robert's Story

1949 -

Robert Proctor was a member of the men’s hockey team that won a silver medal in 1976. The team enjoyed a strong 2-1 win against Pakistan in the semi-final, but lost the final 1-0 to New Zealand. The silver medal was the best result for Australia at the Games, the other four medals won by Australians being bronze. From New South Wales, Proctor remained involved in the sport after his competitive retirement and has contributed much as a coach and administrator.
