Robert's Story
Cyclist Robbie McEwen has enjoyed a successful cycling career including selection on three Olympic Teams (1996 Atlanta, 2000 Sydney, 2004 Athens). McEwen started his career in BMX including being named Australian Junior Champion. At the age of 18, he switched to road cycling and in 1994 was selected for the first time in the Australian Road Team. In 1996, he signed his first professional contract with Holland's Rabobank and has had an illustrious professional career including winning the prestigious green jersey in the Tour de France in 2002, 2004 and 2006, the first Aussie to achieve it. McEwen's best Olympic result was in 2004 Athens when he placed 11th in the individual road race.
