Water Polo Men's Tournament
Rafael Sterk was born in South Australia and began playing water polo at the age of 14. When he was 22 Sterk was thrown in the deep end with his first major international tournament being the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games. Sterk is now a three-time Olympian, playing goalkeeper in Sydney, Athens and Beijing. The Australian team finished eighth in Sydney and Beijing and ninth in Athens.
