Basketball Women's 12-team Tournament
1968 -
Rachael Sporn won three medals with the Australian women’s basketball team: bronze in 1996 and silver in 2000 and 2004. Born in Victoria, Sporn played basketball in South Australia for many years. The forward represented Australia in more than 300 matches, becoming a popular and valuable member of the Opals as it emerged as one of the world’s best teams. She also enjoyed success as a professional player, most notably in the WNBA with the Detroit Shock.
