Pietro's Story
Pietro Figlioli was born in 2016 Olympic host city, Rio de Janeiro. His father was a triple Olympian for Brazil and once held the 100m breaststroke World Record. Pietro Figlioli moved to Australia with his family in 1988 at the age of three after his dad fell in love with Australia whilst competing at the World Masters Swimming Championships. Figlioli began playing water polo in high school. He made his Olympic debut with the Australian Sharks at Athens 2004, placing ninth. Figlioli was also part of the team to place eighth at Beijing 2008.
