Nicole's Story
Barely off her training wheels, Nicole Callisto began cycling at the age of three and won her first national title one year later. Competing in her first Australian team, Callisto won the 2005 Junior BMX World Championship and was then named 2005 Junior Australian Female BMX Cyclist of the Year. Suffering more than her share of knee injuries- with three major set-backs from 2006 to 2007, Callisto was named Australian Female BMX Cyclist of the Year in 2007 and 2008. Callisto made her Olympic debut at the 2008 Beijing Games at the age of 20. She qualified for the final and finished sixth.
