Nicole Arrold made her Olympic debut in 2004 when her good friend and teammate, Sarah Taylor was injured just days out from the Games. Arrold also competed at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games and the Australians finished fifth on each occasion. Arrold also won two Commonwealth Games gold medals - 2006 and 2010.
