Molly's Story
Born and raised in Adelaide, Molly Goodman represented South Australia and Australia at junior level aged 18 in 2011.
After finishing fourth at the U23 World Rowing Championships in 2013, Molly was elevated to make her senior international debut in 2014 for the Australian women's eight.
Racing in the World Rowing Cup III that same year, Molly finished sixth. However at the 2014 World Rowing Championships, Molly improved, finishing fourth in the final.
Gearing up to qualify for her first Olympic Games, Molly had a breakout year in 2015 rowing in a pair, finishing with gold medals at both the World Rowing Championship and the World Rowing Cup III, whilst also claiming bronze at the World Rowing Cup II.
Although initially missing out on qualification for the 2016 Olympics, Molly received a late call up for the Games.
Leaving just two weeks to prepare in a rushed training camp, Molly went on to make her Olympic debut in Rio and finished fourth in her heat and fifth in repechage.
After the Olympics in 2017, Molly had a fantastic year rowing in the women's four, winning gold medals at World Rowing Cups II and III plus the World Rowing Championships.
In 2018, Molly won gold again at two World Rowing Cups rowing in a four, whilst also achieving silver at the World Rowing Championships, narrowly finishing behind the USA by two seconds.
When Tokyo 2020 was on the horizon, Molly won gold at the World Rowing Cup II and also finished second at the World Rowing Cup III and World Rowing Championships, securing qualification for those Games.
Becoming a dual Olympian at Tokyo 2020, Molly rowed in the women's eight where Australia finished fifth in the final.
Returning to international rowing in 2023, Molly came back strong, winning gold at the World Rowing Cup II in the women's eight.
Molly finished 2023 third at both World Rowing Cup III and the World Rowing Championships, securing Australia the boat’s qualification for the Paris Olympics.
