Michael's Story
1967 -
Michael York was a four-time Olympian and one of the best defenders ever to represent Australia. From New South Wales, York made his Olympic debut in 1988, with the team finishing fourth. He would win medals at each of his next three Olympics: silver in 1992 and bronze in 1996 and 2000. York was a long-term captain of the Kookaburras and played more than 200 games for his country, winning universal respect as both a player and a leader.
