Michael's Story
Four-time Olympian Michael Rogers has raced in every Olympic competition from 2000 to 2012. Initially racing on the track in the team pursuit in Sydney (finishing fifth), Rogers switched to road racing for his future campaigns. Rogers was awarder the bronze medal for his ride in the time trial at the Athens Games in 2004. He recorded the fourth quickest time but winner Tyler Hamilton would later admit to doping and in 2012 during the London Games he was formally stripped of his gold and Rogers was elevated. The three-time road time trial world champion (2003-2005) placed eighth in this event in Beijing and came sixth out of 143 riders in the road race. At London 2012 he rode superbly to place sixth in the time trial and was a member of the road race team eventually placing 91st. In 2014 he won the 16th stage of the Tour de France, during his 10th attempt at the premiere Tour.
