Michael's Story

Michael Delany proved himself a world-class swimmer in 1984 when he won a silver medal as part of Australia’s ‘Mean Machine’ – the men’s 4x100m freestyle relay team. Delany joined Neil Brooks, Mark Stockwell and Greg Fasala as among the most highly-publicised athletes on the Australian team. Delany also swam in the 100m freestyle event but did not qualify for the final despite winning his heat.
