Mark's Story

Mark McNee made his Olympic debut at the Salt Lake City 2002 Olympic Winter Games, competing in the 1000m and 1500m short track speed skating events. He finished 15th and 28th respectively. Four years later at the Torino Games, McNee contested three events - 1000m, 1500m and the 5000m relay with his best result being sixth in the relay. In the lead up to Torino, McNee had a best result of 15th in the 1000m in the Netherlands and 20th in the 1000m in Italy, qualifying a place for Australia in all three individual events on the Olympic program. He also played a key role in the team's qualification for the 5000m relay, skating every leg during the Olympic qualification process.
