Playing hockey runs in the family for Madison Fitzpatrick, with her father Scott and sister Savannah having represented Australia nationally, and her mother Margie and siblings Callum and Kendra all representing at a state level.
Madison was named to the Australian development squad in 2015 and made her Hockeyroos debut at the Perth Korean Tests in September later that year.
In 2016, Madison played alongside her sister Savannah at the Hockey Junior World Cup where their team, the Jillaroos, won the bronze medal. This was her second Junior World Cup appearance after being a member of the 2013 Jillaroos squad.
A member of the Queensland Scorchers, Madison won the 2013, 2015 and 2016 Australian Hockey League Tournament.
At 24 she won gold at the 2017 Oceania Cup and went on to win silver at the 2018 Champions Trophy, 2019 Oceania Cup and 2019 FIH Pro League.
Madison earnt her Olympic debut alongside her sister Savannah at the Tokyo 2020 games. She would assist the Hockeyroos to an undefeated group stage in the tournament, scoring the only goal in Australia's 1-0 victory over Japan in their 3rd match. This would set up Australia with a quarter-final clash against India, where they would be held goalless and defeated 1-0. Earning the Hockeyroos 5th placed overall in the tournament.
