Lucy's Story

1965 -

Track cyclist Lucy Tyler-Sharman won a bronze medal in the women’s individual point race in Atlanta. The medal confirmed Australia’s growing strength in women’s track events, with the West Australian joining sprint silver medallist Michelle Ferris as Atlanta medallists. American-born, Tyler-Sharman also enjoyed success at the world championship level. The highlight came in 1998 when she won the world title for the women’s individual pursuit. She has stayed involved in the sport through coaching.
