Lily Alton

Growing up in Brisbane, Lily Alton took up rowing during high school. During her latter school years, Lily first made Queensland state selection in 2015, for the women's youth eight.

In the same year Lily joined the national team and competed at the Rio de Janeiro World Junior Rowing Championships, finishing ninth overall rowing in a coxless four.

In the following year, Lily was selected to race in a coxless pair alongside Annika Hoffmann at the World Junior Championships, rowing to a fourth place finish.

In 2019, Lily made senior state selection for Queensland for the first time, rowing in the senior women's eight. Later that same year, Lily headed overseas for the U23 World Rowing Championships in the USA and finished ninth as part of a coxless four.

Continuing to row for Queensland, Lily competed in the Queen's Cup in 2021, 2022 and 2023, finishing third twice.

2023 would go on to be a big year for Lily as she was selected in the senior Australian women's squad for the international season for the first time, being a part of the sweep-oar team.

Lily later competed at the Rowing World Cup II in Italy, finishing with a women's eight gold medal after leading from the start in the A final. With an unchanged eight at the Rowing World Cup III, Lily took home a bronze medal.

At the 2023 Rowing World Championships, Lily again competed in the women's eight. After finishing first in the repechage, Australia went on to claim the bronze medal, ending an impressive year for the Brisbane local.

At Paris 2024, Lily made her Olympic debut. Rowing with Olympia Aldersey, Molly Goodman and Jean Mitchell in the women's four, the crew went on to finish fourth in the heat, fifth in the repechage and third in the B final, giving them an overall ranking of ninth.
