Lauryn's Story

Lauryn Mark was born in the United States to an international shooting coach. After missing selection to the US Olympic Team for the 2000 Sydney Games, Mark relocated to Australia.

Mark went on to compete for Australia in the 2002 Commonwealth Games where she became a dual gold medallist after taking out the individual and pairs skeet events.

She made her Olympic debut in Athens 2004 where she competed in the individual skeet. Keeping pace with the top of the leaderboard throughout, Mark just missed the shoot-off for a medal by a single target. Two years on she claimed another Commonwealth Games gold as she defended her pairs skeet title.

Married to Atlanta gold medallist Russell Mark, Lauryn competed for the first time in Olympic competition alongside her husband at the London 2012 Games where she finished in 15th position.
