Lauren's Story

1978 –

Victorian sprint specialist, Lauren Hewitt competed at Atlanta 1996, Sydney 2000 and Athens 2004. She was a 17-year-old schoolgirl when she competed at Atlanta in the 4 x 100 metres relay, with Sharon Cripps, Kylie Hanigan and Jodi Lambert; the team finished seventh in the final. 

Hewitt competed at five world championships, where she made the final of the 200 metres at Seville, Spain in 1999, finishing seventh. At three Commonwealth Games she won two gold (in the relays) and three bronze medals. Hewitt won eight titles at the Australian track and field championships
