About Laura

Laura Brock's first involvement with the sport of football came about at school, where during lunchtime the six-year-old would play the game with her friends. As her love for football began to grow, so did her ability and soon she was cementing her place as one of Australia’s most promising up and coming players.

Her career has since taken her to the W-League, playing domestically for Melbourne Victory, Brisbane Roar and Melbourne City.

Internationally Laura has ventured to England where she began playing with the Lincoln Ladies, as well as the US where she played for Orlando Pride.

Laura debuted for the Matildas in 2010 when she was 20-years-old. The game was a friendly against Korea DPR and was played in Brisbane.

Since then Laura has amassed more than 60 caps in the green & gold, including appearances at the 2011 FIFA Women’s World Cup, 2014 AFC Asian Cup, 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup, 2016 Rio Olympics and the 2018 AFC Asian Cup.

Unfortunately injury kept her away from the game for two years, unable to compete at 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup and the 2020 Olympic qualifying tournament.

Laura and the Matildas made all of Australia proud in Tokyo, putting together a historic achievement.

Their fourth place finish, which was nearly a podium finish after a 4-3 loss to the USA in the bronze medal game, is the highest ever finish by the Matildas at an Olympic Games.
