Kylie's Story

Along with teammate and pilot Astrid Loch-Wilkinson, Kylie Reed made history at the Torino 2006 Olympic Winter Games as Australia's first female bobsleigh crew. Reed and Loch-Wilkinson finished in 14th place.

Reed came from a successful background in athletics. A former West Australian long jump record holder and Australian national team member in long jump and 4x100m relay, Reed made her competition debut in Europa Cup in Winterberg, Germany, in November 2003. In a promising opening, the duo finished in ninth place. She made her World Cup debut in Igls, Austria, in December 2004, again with Loch-Wilkinson, the pair finishing in 19th place.
