Kevin's Story
1937 – 1976
In his only major international swimming meeting Kevin O'Halloran teamed with Jon Henricks, John Devitt and the 17-year-old Murray Rose in the 4x200 metres freestyle relay squad that won the gold medal, in the event that was last won by Australasia at Stockholm 1912. He was the somewhat surprising choice for the squad because the bronze medallist in the 100m freestyle, Gary Chapman, had seemingly higher claims to the spot. O'Halloran also finished fourth in the 400m freestyle, an event won by Murray Rose.
