Kevin's Story
1934 –
Kevin Hogarth won Australia's first Olympic boxing medal in almost 50 years in the welterweight division at Melbourne 1956. The previous medal was a silver won by the famous sporting all-rounder Reginald “Snowy” Baker at London 1908. Hogarth's international boxing career ended when he was eliminated in the quarter finals of the light middleweight division at the Empire and Commonwealth Games at Cardiff 1958.
