About Katarina

As a member of Adelaide’s SSAA Para Shooting Club, Katarina Kowplos only started rifle shooting seven years ago and in that short time has made her mark, pushing for Olympic selection while juggling her final year of high school.

She made her international debut in 2017 when she competed in the youth division of the Oceania Championships and won silver in the women’s 10m air rifle.

In 2018, she competed at the Junior World Cup in Sydney and finished in the top 15 of the women’s 10m air rifle.

Kowplos was named to her first Australian Olympic Team after she topped the Shooting Australia selection trials leaderboard, defeating Emma Adams and Maria Rebling in the women’s 50m 3 position rifle events.

In Tokyo, Kowplos finished 36th in the women’s 50m Rifle 3 positions, 45th in the women’s 10m air rifle, and 22nd in the mixed 10m air rifle team event where she partnered Dane Sampson.
