Karen's Story
Karen Pollock (nee Brancourt) was a member of the coxed fours which in 1984 won Australia’s first Olympic women’s rowing medal. The crew of Brancourt, Margot Foster, Robyn Grey-Gardner, Susan Chapman and Susan Lee (cox) won a bronze medal behind Romania and Canada. Brancourt was one of two members of South Australia’s Torrens Rowing Club in the crew – Robyn Gray-Gardiner was also a member of the club.
