Julian Wruck won the Commonwealth Youth Games gold medal in the discus throw before going on to place eighth at the Commonwealth Games in Delhi. Wruck won the 2012 Olympic Trials in Melbourne in March after setting a new personal best (65.74m) in late 2011. Making his debut in London, Wruck finished 13th in the qualification round with a best throw of 60.08m.
