Joshua's Story

Joshua Slack took up beach volleyball in 1998 to get fit for soccer- and never looked back. Slack joined the world tour in 1999 and competed at his first Olympic Games in 2000 where he placed 17th. In 2002 he convinced Andrew Schacht out of retirement and the pair won bronze at the 2003 World Tour in Portugal, a national title, a top 10 international ranking and 2004 Olympic Team selection. Slack and Schacht finished 9th both in Athens and in Beijing in 2008. In 2007 they won a bronze medal at the FIVB World Championships- the highest ever performance by any Australian men’s volleyball team.
