About Josh

A former New Zealand U19s Sevens representative and captain, Josh Turner now calls Australia home.

He linked with the Manly Marlins club in the NSW Shute Shield in the 15-man game in 2016 where he made an instant impression, with 40 tries in 52 games over two years. Josh then joined the Sydney Rays in the 2017 National Rugby Competition, scoring six tries in 10 matches.

In 2019 he was back in the game’s shorter version after gaining his citizenship and being named in the Australian side for the Oceania Sevens in Fiji.

In his debut World Rugby Sevens series, Josh scored a try during Australia's win over Scotland at the December 2019 Dubai leg. The next day, he scored another two tries against Ireland.

Turner made his Olympic debut for Australia at Tokyo 2020, scoring twice in Australia's opening group stage game against Argentina. The Australian side would fall to Fiji in the quarter-finals of the tournament losing 19-0. Josh would score once again in Australia's 22-19 defeat to South Africa, bringing his tally to 3 across the games.
