Jono Brauer is a dual Olympian having competed in alpine skiing in Torino 2006 and Vancouver 2010. Injury has plagued the Sydney-born athlete throughout his skiing career that has seen him on the international circuit since 1997. His best World Cup result was in 2006 at Chamonix,14th in the Super Combined. At World Championships, his best result was 31st in the giant slalom at Val d Isere in France in February 2009. At the Vancouver Games, Brauer produced two solid runs in his events, in what were difficult conditions on the Dave Murray run in Whistler. He placed 30th in the Super-G and 39th in the Downhill. Brauer called time on his career at the end of his last race in Vancouver, retiring from international competition.
