John's Story
1970 -
John Forbes won two medals in the Tornado sailing event eight years apart. His first medal came in 1992 when he teamed up with Mitch Booth. Forbes missed selection for Atlanta, but returned to the Olympics in Sydney, winning a silver medal with Darren Bundock. The result was special for Forbes because Sydney was his hometown. Forbes became a triple Olympian in Athens, where he and Bundock finished sixth. A multiple world champion, he is regarded as one of the finest catamaran sailors ever to compete for Australia.
