Sydney-based boxer Joel Brunker made his Olympic debut at the Athens 2004 Games. Brunker was a three-time state champion and two-time national champion at the time of the Games and contested the 54kg bantamweight division. He bowed in his preliminary round, going down to Aghasi Mammadov from Azerbaijan.
