Joanna's Story
Jo Halls started fencing as a nine-year-old, alongside her sister Evelyn – both sisters have since gone on to become dual-Olympians in the sport. Halls made her Australian team debut in 1993 at the Junior World Championships in Denver at 19 years of age. She made her Olympic debut at the Sydney Games with her sister and was again selected to compete in 2008 at the Beijing Games. In Beijing, Halls’ fiancé Gerry Adams was the modern pentathlon coach.
