Jaqueline's Story
Jacqueline Nichele started competitive sport as a five-year-old but only began competing in weightlifting in 2019.
Hailing from NSW, Jacqueline qualified for her first international competition at the 2023 Commonwealth Championships held in India. Jacqueline proved she was one to watch, walking away with the gold medal in the women's 71kg event with a total lift of 216kg.
At the 2023 Pacific Games in Honiara, she dominated the women's 71kg weightlifting division, winning gold medals in the snatch, clean and jerk, and total weight categories.
At the 2024 IWF World Cup, Jaqueline finished 23rd, missing out on an automatic qualification spot for the Olympic Games. However, she secured a place on the Australian Team for Paris 2024 by being the top ranked weightlifter in Oceania for her weight category.
At the Paris 2024 Olympics Jacqueline finished 10th on debut.
Beyond her athletic achievements, Jaqueline is also a prominent advocate for female empowerment and mental health. With a strong presence on Instagram and TikTok, she promotes body positivity and wellness to her followers.
