Jake's Story
Jake Donaghey and Alex Haas became the youngest ever Australians to be selected in the Olympic canoe-sprint team. The duo, who began canoeing in primary school, smashed their personal best time to gain selection in the C2 1000m event at the 2012 London Olympic Games.
At the age of just 17, the Queensland pair finished a credible third in the Olympic B Final. Donaghey also competed in the C1 1000m event and finished fourth in the B Final.
Donaghey and Haas were coached by Kevin Crisp at the London Olympics- their coach since their days at Nudgee Junior College.
